COMMENTS
As most of you know, I operate this website because of my passion for God’s creation, my desire to see it properly interpreted, and my desire to help other old earth creationists. In addition, I realize how harmful the young earth message is to our church as a whole.
I have a full-time job that I work to support my family. I strive to work on website issues at least an hour a day, but it doesn’t always work out that way. I prefer to do my posts of new material in the mornings when I am at work, so I prep them the night before, and make the posts via my smartphone. I get several breaks throughout the day, and I use them to keep track of any activity. My greatest desire, and daily prayer, is that God would allow me to work full-time on the website. There is so much that I could do if I were so enabled. It pains me, sometimes to the point of tears, when I see work that I could do, but cannot because of time constraints. There is easily enough material for me to work on the website full-time.
I pledge to contribute as much as I possibly can, of both my finances and time, to the growth of the ministry (in some cases, while ignoring my own needs). This work is something that I do personally, and it is not incorporated as a charitable organization. I understand that this gives people hesitation to donate. For those that do donate, I can promise that 100% of your donation goes to the ministry. I want to thank everyone who has financially donated in the past year.
THE FUTURE
I hope to eventually do this work full-time (although I am at least 15 years away from retirement (age 70). Full-time work would require a better office. My ‘office’ is located in the loft of my house, which is open to the downstairs (hence, noisy and not private). My plan is to clear some trees and build an external garage, and then convert the garage in my basement into an office. In the future, I am exploring the use of a fundraising site, such as gofundme.com, to set a goal and work towards it. I'm researching how much these projects would cost (estimated $35-40k). If it goes well, another fundraising campaign to speed up my retirement would be considered (in the $175k range).
PERSONAL
Since this is a one-man operation...as the man goes, so goes the ministry. It has been a rough year for me personally. I appreciate the support and patience I have received from everyone as I struggle to keep the website updated, and provide for my family. Just as Paul, I also have a 'thorn in my flesh' which constantly wears on me as I serve (dental problems, for which I don't have funds at present (about $3,000 to fix). I hope and pray that I will be able to fix this in the coming year or two.
SUMMARY
I am but one man, but I have a passion for this work, and it really tears me apart that I cannot do more. I'm not embarrassed to admit that I've shed many tears this year over my desire to build this ministry to full-time status. The young earth ministries have over 300 full-time employees...so there is a lot of misinformation they are producing that needs to be corrected, so the general public can learn that they can accept an old earth and the Bible. For my part, I promise to devote as much time to this work as possible, for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone for helping me toward that goal, and for your prayers for myself and the ministry.
God Bless,
Greg Neyman
